Biography:
Has good body structure and a muscular frame…Shows smoothness and balance as he stays low in his backpedal…Solid in his plant and drive to the ball, taking no false steps… Has the recovery burst and deep speed to stay tight on the receivers…Takes proper angles to the ball and shows excellent acceleration through long pursuit…Plays with aggression, toughness and confidence in man coverage, keeping his feet while showing good body control to shadow the receiver…Gets into his zone drop area quickly and shows suddenness breaking on the ball…Plays with awareness, keeping good track of the ball in flight…Catches the ball cleanly and with arms properly extended…Quick to react and read the plays in run force, showing a good use of hands to ward off the low blocks while maintaining balance…Not afraid of contact and stays low in his pads to wrap and secure in his tackles…Four-year starter at cornerback who was regarded as the best pass defender in the Western Athletic Conference…Teamed with Jonas Rutledge to form one of the best corner duos in the nation...A fine cover man who is very good in run support, he started all 42 games that he played in his collegiate career…The fastest player on the team, he made 265 tackles (181 solos) with eleven stops behind the line of scrimmage, seven interceptions, 36 pass deflections, four forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and six blocked kicks during his time with the Mustangs.

2002 SEASON

All-Western Athletic Conference first-team selection by The NFL Draft Report…Started nine games at strongside cornerback, recording 48 tackles (35 solos) with six deflected passes and two interceptions…Caused and recovered a fumble…Also blocked a kick.

Navy…Opened the season with two solo tackles.
Texas Tech…Deflected 2 passes and posted 5 tackles (4 solos).
Texas Christian…Totaled 4 solo tackles.
Oklahoma State…Registered a career-high 16 tackles (10 solos) and batted away a pass.
Hawaii…Recovered a fumble, blocked a field goal, intercepted two passes and delivered 4 solo tackles.
San Jose State…Collected 5 tackles and broke up a pass.
Texas-El Paso…Had a pass break-up and 3 tackles.
Tulsa…Closed out his career with 8 tackles (6 solos), a forced fumble and a deflected pass.

2001 SEASON

All-Western Athletic Conference honorable mention, starting every game at right corner-back…Collected 62 tackles (42 solos) with four stops for losses of 7 yards…Deflected 14 passes and intercepted three others for 88 yards in returns and a touchdown…Blocked a kick.

Louisiana Tech…Opened the season with 4 tackles and a quarterback pressure.
Texas Christian…Deflected a pass and delivered 7 tackles (5 solos).
North Carolina State…Registered 5 solo tackles and blocked an extra point attempt.
Hawaii…Returned an interception 56 yards to set up a score, knocked down 2 passes and recorded 7 tackles (4 solos), including one for a loss.
San Jose State…Posted 8 tackles with a stop for a 4-yard loss and a pass deflection.
