Biography:
Has good initial quickness and suddenness coming off the snap…Uses his speed to escape the press coverage and is a very good route runner with the speed and cutting ability to cut and accelerate out of his breaks…Has outstanding field vision, easily finding the soft spot in the zone…Works the sidelines well and is very aware of oncoming defenders…Can create separation on the move and makes good body adjustments going up for the ball…Has good hands placement and superb hand/eye coordination to extend and catch the ball at its highest point…Holds on to the ball after the collision and has the body flexibility to combat for the ball in traffic…More elusive than fast as a runner, but has an array of wiggle and juke moves to make defenders miss…Despite his size, he will not back down when facing up to defenders as a blocker…One of the most exciting players in the Pac-10 Conference and in the nation…Shaun has the skills to make something happen after catching the football…A finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, he finished his career as one of the top pass catchers in the history of ASU football… Compiled 2867 yards receiving, just 126 shy of the school career-record of 2993 yards by Hall of Famer John Jefferson (1974-77)…His 2867 yards rank sixth on the Pac-10 Conference’s all-time record list…His 24 touchdown catches rank third in school annals, topped only by the 25 scores of both Doug Allen (1981-84) and Keith Poole (1993-96)…His 156 receptions rank third in school history and ninth on the conference career-record chart.

2002 SEASON

All-American third-team selection by The NFL Draft Report, Associated Press and The Sporting News…All-Pac 10 Conference first-team choice…Finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s top receiver…Set school season-records with 87 catches for 1405 yards (16.1 avg) and 13 touchdowns, topping the previous marks of 64 receptions by Ron Fair (1989) and 1144 yards by Morris Owens (1973)…Only Doug Allen (14 in 1984) had more touchdowns in a season for the Sun Devils…Added 25 yards on five carries (5.0 avg) and 29 yards on two punt returns (14.5 avg)…Gained over 100 yards receiving in five contests.

Nebraska…Gained 73 yards on 7 grabs.
Central Florida…Caught 5 passes for 54 yards and 3 scores.
San Diego State…Had 8 receptions for 175 yards and touchdowns of 72, 33, 29 & 16 yards…His four scoring catches equaled the school record that he holds (vs. Louisiana-Lafayette in 2001) with John Allen (vs. San Jose State in 1953).
Stanford…Gained 221 yards on 10 catches, including a 27-yard touchdown…Only Eric Guliford (232 vs. Houston in 1990) and Ron Fair (277 vs. Washington State in 1989) gained more yards receiving in a game for the Sun Devils.
