Veteran QB completed his ninth consecutive season of more than 1,000 passing yards in 2002, his first season as a back-up with Chicago… Joined Bears as an unrestricted free agent on April 15, 2002, enabling him to increase his NFL record of teams started for to seven… Also played for Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Rams, Phoenix Cardinals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts… Recorded the second highest passing yardage total of his career (2,847) in 2001 while leading the NFL with a 115.0 QB rating in the fourth QTR in his final season with Atlanta… Ranks as the third-leading passer in Falcon history with 13,268 yards in his five seasons with the team, going over 20,000 yards passing for career in 1999 and heading into 2003 with 26,971 for his career… One of two QBs in Falcon history (Steve Bartkowski) to pass for 400 yards in a game… Led Atlanta to its only Super Bowl berth in 1998… Enjoyed career years in first two seasons in Atlanta with 20 and 25 passing TDs, respectively, earning consecutive Pro Bowl trips in 1997 and 1998… Set Atlanta record by throwing at least one TD pass in 27 straight games from 1998-99… Played with Cards their final season before changing their team name from Phoenix to Arizona (1993), a member of Rams their last season in Los Angeles (1994) and was on the last Oilers team to play in Houston (1996)… Originally drafted in the third round (76th overall) by Indianapolis in 1988.

At the University of Washington, he started 26 consecutive games
and finished third in school history in total offense with 4,442 yards and
TD passes with 32… Capped off a consistent college career that included ten
200-yard passing days by being honored as the Offensive Player-of-the-Game
at the Senior Bowl… Led the Huskies to the Independence Bowl his final
season with 1,739 yards passing and 11 TDs… As a junior, set a school record
with 20 TDs and tied an NCAA record with four season-quarter TD passes in a
game vs. Stanford while leading UW to an 8-3-1 record and a berth in Sun
Bowl… Showed his leadership qualities early in college as he guided the
Huskies of Don James to a 20-17 victory in the Freedom Bowl as a sophomore
in only his fourth collegiate start. |
