Began 2002 season as the starting strong safety for the retired LeRoy Butler. ... Suffered left A/C joint (shoulder) injury against New Orleans Saints in Week 2, then suffered broken forearm the following week against Detroit and was inactive for subsequent four games. ... Never regained starting job back and finished season in backup role as part of the defense's "dime" package (six defensive backs) on passing downs. ... Plays multiple positions in team's 'nickel' and 'dime' packages. Has the big-hitting ability of a safety and the coverage skills of a cornerback. ... Sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, along with damage to the medial collateral ligament, while covering a punt at Carolina (9/30); he subsequently was placed on injured reserve on 10/3. Underwent arthroscopic surgery to repair the ACL on 10/18. Green Bay’s No. 1 draft pick (25th overall) in 1999 NFL draft.
