| Born Travis Lamon Fisher in Tallahassee, Fla.…graduated from Godby High in Tallahassee…excelled in track, and was school’s athlete of the year as senior…won state championship in the 100 (10.2 second 100 meters) and 200-meter dash, as well as the 4x100 meter relay…earned degree in criminal justice.
Speedy corner with great athletic ability…has sharp change of direction and quickly digests plays…chosen to play in the Rotary Gridiron Classic all-star game at Florida Citrus Bowl, in which a team of Florida all-stars played all-stars from the rest of the United States, following senior season…widely thought of as the best junior college cornerback in the country prior to enrolling at UCF in January, 1999.
Senior: Started 11 games and finished season with 61 tackles, (39 solo), two interceptions, 13 passes defensed, and three tackles for losses of seven yards…had at least three tackles in every contest. Junior: Started 11 games and finished season with 37 tackles (27 solo), had 11 passes defensed, and two interceptions. Sophomore: Played in 11 games with one start…ended year with 32 tackles and tied for team lead with 11 passes defensed. Junior Played one season at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College, where he led team to number four national ranking in pass defense…redshirted as true freshman. |
