| Born John Bradley St. Clair in Roanoke, Va…earned four letters at tight end and defensive tackle at William Fleming (Roanoke, Va.) High...all-America selection by Super Prep as a senior, named to the Blue Chip Illustrated all-regional team, rated one of the top 25 football players in Virginia by Roanoke Times and Charlottesville Daily Progress/Lynchburg News, selected all-District and was Virginia High School League (VHSL) East-West All-Star game selection...team Defensive Player of the Year as a junior...lettered four times in track, earning all-district honors in the discus...advanced to the state finals in discus all four years...lettered twice in basketball...Honor Roll student and member of the Beta Club and National Honor Society...also member of Spanish Honor Society…married during offseason to Shannon.
Great feet…penciled in as starting right tackle entering training camp…long wing span…great athletic ability…strong work ethic…Rams’ third round draft selection (94th overall) in 2000 NFL Draft. 2001: Inactive for 16 regular season and three postseason contests. 2000: Inactive for all 16 regular season games and NFC Wildcard Game vs. New Orleans 12/30.
All-America first-team selection at center by College Football News and CNN/SI senior season, adding second-team honors from Football News...became first center in school history to earn all-America honors...all-Atlantic Coast Conference first-team pick...recipient of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, given to the top offensive linemen in the conference...graded 87.6% for blocking consistency as he registered 84 knockdowns…as junior started 10 games...named second team all-ACC...Cavaliers led the ACC in variety of offensive categories, including rushing yards per game (213.1 ypg), rushing touchdowns (27), yards per rush (5.0), yards per play (6.1) and first downs per game (21.4)…appeared in every game sophomore season, starting at center vs. Wake Forest and Clemson…as freshman played in eight regular season games and Carquest Bowl as a reserve tight end...used primarily as blocking tight end...did not catch a pass…redshirted as true freshman…anthropology major. |
