| Born Ryan Lamont Pickett in Zephyrhills, Fla…consensus all-American selection, adding all-state honors at Zephyrhills High...named one of top 25 players in country by National Recruiting Advisor...recorded 119 tackles with seven sacks as a senior…known as “Big Grease”…nickname he says started with his father, Rubin…older brother, Booker, played football at University of Miami (Fla.)...single…resides in Creve Coeur, Mo.
Young player who can only get better…powerful, athletic, inside player…good intensity playing the run…selected by Rams in first round (29th overall) of 2001 NFL Draft. 2001: Played in 11 games in regular season and three postseason contests in reserve role on defensive line and on special teams…made 24 tackles (10 solo), 0.5 sack, and one pass defensed…tallied three tackles in consecutive games at Detroit 10/8 and vs. New York Giants 10/14…collected career-high five tackles (four solo), combined with LB London Fletcher for first 0.5 sack of career, and had one pass defensed at Atlanta 12/2…tied career high with five tackles (one solo) at Carolina 12/23…made three tackles (one solo) following week vs. Indianapolis 12/30.
