| Born Llewellyn Murphy in San Pedro, Calif…nicknamed Yo because his sister couldn’t pronounce his real name…lettered in football, baseball and basketball at Idaho Falls High…grand marshall for Idaho Falls Fourth of July parade past offseason...elected into Scottish Claymores Hall of Fame in May, 2002...single…resides in St. Louis
Multidimensional player…runs good routes and has good hands…has ability to run with ball…handled kickoff return duties for Rams late last season and in playoffs…overcame odds and made Rams 53-man roster in training camp despite not playing in 2000…signed by Rams 7/23/01…played in six games for the XFL’s Las Vegas Outlaws in spring of 2001, leading the team with 27 receptions for 273 yards, and tying for second on team with 18 points (six touchdowns)…played in seven games with Tampa Bay and one with Minnesota in 1999…played three seasons in NFL Europe for Scottish Claymores (1997-99). 2001: Played in 16 games on offense and special teams…recorded eight kickoff returns for 174 yards (21.8 avg.) and collected four special teams tackles in regular season…made one reception for 11 yards, returned nine kickoffs for 252 yards (28.0 avg.) and registered one special teams tackle in three postseason games…played mainly on special teams as gunner in first 14 games of regular season before taking over kickoff return duties vs. Indianapolis 12/30…returned four kickoffs for 83 yards in contest vs. Colts…following week vs. Atlanta 1/6 returned three kickoffs for 69 yards…returned three kickoffs for 95 yards with postseason long of 43 in NFC Championship Game vs. Philadelphia 1/27…recorded first career postseason reception and first reception as Ram for 11 yards in fourth quarter to set up game-tying touchdown pass from QB Kurt Warner to WR Ricky Proehl in Super Bowl XXXVI vs. New England 2/3…also returned three kickoffs for 81 yards. 2000: Did not play. 1999: Played in seven games with Tampa Bay and one with Minnesota…caught four passes for 28 yards…also returned 14 kickoffs for a 21.9-yard average…first career catch came at Detroit 10/31, a seven-yarder from QB Eric Zeier…returned four kickoffs for 113 yards at New Orleans 11/7, including a 55-yarder that tied for the fifth longest return in Buccaneer history…waived by Tampa Bay 11/29 and claimed by Minnesota the next day…played in one game for the Vikings…inactive for the remaining four regular season games, plus NFC Wildcard game vs. Dallas 1/9. NFL Europe. 1997-99: Played three seasons for Scottish Claymores…led league in receptions (47) in 1997, racking up 559 yards and two touchdowns…ranked fifth in the league in 1999 with 45 catches for 752 yards and four scores. |
