Born Jamie Blane Martin in Orange, Calif…lettered in football, basketball, baseball, and golf at Arroyo Grande (Calif.) High...led team to California Southern Section Championship as senior…finished high school career with 40 touchdowns…married (Kelly) with son (Jackson). Veteran backup who knows the system…smart, good release…accurate passer…signed with Rams 9/2/01 as unrestricted free agent…spent two seasons with Jacksonville (2000, 1998), one with Cleveland (1999), one with Washington (1997), and four with Rams (1993-96)…originally signed by Rams as undrafted free agent in 1993. 2001: Saw action in five regular season contests…completed all three pass attempts for 22 yards…saw first action of season in fourth quarter at Detroit 10/8…following week vs. New York Giants 10/14 was in for one play in fourth quarter due to an injury to QB Kurt Warner, handing ball to RB Trung Canidate who scored game-winning touchdown…entered contest at New York Jets 10/21 in fourth quarter and completed one pass for 10 yards…played in final two quarters vs. Carolina 11/11, completing two pass attempts for 12 yards. 2000: Played in five games…completed 22 of 33 passes for 307 yards, two touchdowns, one interception for passer rating of 104.0…also rushed seven times for minus six yards…did not play in 10 games and inactive for one game…completed eight of 13 passes for 88 yards and touchdown vs. Pittsburgh 10/1…established season highs with 11 completions in 15 attempts for 93 yards and one interception following week vs. Baltimore 10/8…completed two of three passes for 73 yards, including a season-long 65-yard pass to WR Jimmy Smith vs. Arizona 12/10. 1999: Inactive as third quarterback for first 15 games with Cleveland…did not play in season finale vs. Indianapolis 12/26. 1998: Won backup job to QB Mark Brunell in training camp…played in four games, completing 27 of 45 passes for 355 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions…saw first action of season at Baltimore 11/1, completing two of two passes for 21 yards…completed 15 of 23 passes for 228 yards (all career highs) and equaled career best with two touchdown passes vs. Detroit 12/6…on first pass connected with WR Keenan McCardell on 67-yard touchdown…registered first start of career following week vs. Tennessee 12/13…completed six of 11 passes for 71 yards before suffering torn anterior cruciate ligament in right knee…placed on reserve/injured 12/15. 1997: Spent training camp with Rams…signed 12/2 by Washington Redskins…served as team’s third quarterback for remainder of season. 1996: Saw action in six games with Rams…finished season with 92.9 passer rating, completing 23 of 34 passes for 241 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions…completed all four passes for 47 yards and first career touchdown vs. Chicago 10/8… completed 12 of 19 passes for 132 yards, with one touchdown and one interception vs. New Orleans 12/21 in leading Rams to 14-13 come-from-behind win. 1995: Spent entire season on reserve/physically unable to perform after breaking collarbone in World League. 1995 World League: Played in nine games for Amsterdam Admirals, completing 126 of 219 passes for 1,433 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions…helped lead Amsterdam to World Bowl title. 1994: Waived by Rams 8/27…re-signed 10/4…waived again on 10/12 and re-signed 11/15. 1993: Spent first 11 games of season on Rams’ practice squad before being moved to active roster for final five games of season as third quarterback.
