Born Christopher Raymond Hetherington in North Branford, Conn…standout in football, baseball and hockey at Avon Old Farms (Branford, Conn.) H.S.…also played baseball for two years at Yale…scratch golfer whose best score is a 68 from championship tees…single…resides in St. Louis. Versatile veteran...can line up as a tight end on the line of scrimmage, at H-back, or fullback...superb special teams player…primarily special teamer for his first four NFL seasons, received most extensive action of career at fullback with Carolina during past two seasons…played three seasons with Panthers (1999-2001) after playing first three seasons for Indianapolis (1996-98)…originally signed by Cincinnati as undrafted free agent 4/20/96. 2001: Played in 16 games with one start at fullback and on special teams…finished season with five carries for 12 yards and recorded career highs in receptions (23) and receiving yards (124)…had nine tackles on special teams and posted four kickoff returns for 31 yards…collected five receptions for 33 yards vs. Green Bay 9/30…posted one carry for three yards, three receptions for 20 yards and tallied one special teams tackle vs. Atlanta 11/25…recorded career-high seven receptions for 48 yards vs. Arizona 12/30. 2000: Played in 16 games with five starts (after injury to FB William Floyd)…notched career highs with 23 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns and 14 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown…recorded 11 tackles and a fumble recovery on special teams in addition to two kickoff returns for 21 yards…totaled season-high five special teams tackles at Atlanta 10/29…tallied six yards on three carries, including his first NFL touchdown on a one-yard scoring run, and career highs of six catches for 59 yards at Minnesota 11/19…registered two receptions for 12 yards, including his first NFL touchdown catch on a three-yard pass, and one rush for one yard vs. Green Bay 11/27. 1999: Saw action in 14 games and tied for the team lead in special teams tackles with 15…second straight season he led or tied team in special teams tackles…made fumble recovery on special teams, returned a kickoff for 16 yards and gained seven yards on his first two NFL carries vs. Philadelphia 11/7. 1998: Played in 14 games with one start and led the Colts in special teams tackles with 16…added five kickoff returns for 71 yards…made first career start vs. New York Jets 11/15 and had one kickoff return for 20 yards. 1997: Played in 16 games, mainly on special teams…finished fourth on Colts in special teams tackles with 12…also recorded two kickoff returns for 23 yards. 1996: Began season on Cincinnati Bengals practice squad before signing with Indianapolis 10/23/96...contributed on special teams for the final six games of the season, totaling five special teams tackles…played on special teams at Pittsburgh 12/29 in AFC Wildcard Game.
