Born Frank Christopher Garcia in Phoenix, Az…played football, baseball, and wrestled at Maryvale High in Phoenix…was state heavyweight wrestling champion during junior and senior years…won all-state honors in baseball, batting .464 with 15 home runs as junior…also was school’s chess champion…had golfing opportunity of lifetime in spring of 1997 when he played Augusta National Golf Course…shot six-over-par 78 just weeks before Masters…married (Sarah) with daughter Grace…resides in St. Louis. Tremendous lower-body strength...can play guard or center…exceptional athlete…has started both center and guard in NFL career...signed by Rams as unrestricted free agent 4/26/01…played six years for Carolina Panthers (1995-2000)…originally fourth round selection (133rd overall) by Panthers in 1995 NFL Draft. 2001: Played in 13 games, starting two, and played in all three postseason contests…saw action in first game as a Ram on offense at Detroit 10/8…replaced injured LG Tom Nütten in second quarter where offensive line didn’t give up a sack against his former team vs. Carolina 11/11…made first start as a Ram at left guard, blocking for QB Kurt Warner to pass for a season-high 401 yards at New England 11/18… started the next week on Monday Night Football, blocking for offense that gained 345 total yards against Tampa Bay 11/26…played on offense and special teams in his 100th career game vs. San Francisco 12/9…played on special teams in the last four regular season games and all three postseason contests. 2000: Made 16 starts at center… part of offense that accumulated 450 yards at San Francisco 9/10…helped Carolina offense gain 457 total yards vs. Seattle 10/8. 1999: Started all 16 games at center…missed second half of game vs. Cincinnati 9/26 with concussion…helped offense gain team-record 481 yards at Washington 10/3. 1998: 14 game starter on offensive line…missed first two games of season with sprained right knee…started nine games at left guard after injury to starter Matt Campbell…returned to center vs. San Francisco 12/6 and started final four games of season. 1997: One of two offensive players to start all 16 games…helped offense post at least 100 yards rushing in seven games…offensive line surrendered one or fewer sacks in five outings. 1996: Started first four games of season at left guard before suffering foot injury at Jacksonville 9/29…inactive for next four games…made first start of career at center vs. Tampa Bay 12/1…started next four games and two playoff contests at center. 1995: Played in 15 games with 14 starts…earned first NFL start at left guard at Buffalo 9/10.
