Born Jamie Robert Duncan in Wilmington, Del… started four years as a prep at Christiana High in Wilmington and was state’s Gatorade Player of the Year as both a junior and a senior…led the team in both tackles and interceptions as a junior and a senior and was chosen Defensive Player of the Year as a senior…also lettered three times in basketball…in high school, was a member of Business Professionals of America and Students Promoting African-American Culture…enjoys reading and attending sports events…resides in St. Louis. Solid middle linebacker…smart in coverage and can call defenses…smart, instinctive, knows where to be in coverage…technically sound...signed by Rams 3/7/02 as unrestricted free agent…played four seasons with Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1998-2001)…third round pick by Tampa Bay (84th overall) in 1998 NFL Draft. 2001: Started 15 games at middle linebacker and started playoff contest at Philadelphia 1/12…career-high 130 tackles ranked second on team...added two sacks for nine yards, one interception, one forced fumble and five passes defensed on the year...led the team in tackles three times…notched seven 10-tackle games…had team-high eight tackles at Dallas 9/9…notched 11 tackles at Tennessee 10/14…posted nine tackles and one forced fumble against Pittsburgh 10/21…had solid all-around game with 10 tackles, one pass defensed and one sack at Detroit 11/11…led the team in tackles against Chicago 11/18 with 11 stops…totaled nine tackles, one pass defensed and one sack at St. Louis 11/26…racked up nine tackles and one pass defensed at Chicago 12/16…tallied a season-high 12 tackles against Baltimore 12/29…did not play against Philadelphia 1/6…had six tackles in NFC Wildcard Game at Philadelphia 1/12. 2000: Started 15 regular season games and one playoff contest at middle linebacker...in first full season as starting MLB, finished the season with 97 tackles, seven passes defensed, four interceptions and one fumble recovery...finished fifth on the team in tackles and second on the team in interceptions...had six tackles and one pass defensed at Detroit 9/17...made first interception of his career against the New York Jets 9/24 and had seven tackles and one pass defensed...tied career-high in tackles with 13 before suffering a concussion in the fourth quarter…missed game at Minnesota 10/9 due to a concussion suffered at Washington 10/1...played solid game at Atlanta 11/5 with six tackles, one pass defensed and his second interception of the season...had strong all-around game at Miami 12/10, making seven tackles, two passes defensed, one fumble recovery and a 31-yard interception return for his first NFL touchdown...fumble recovery led to 46-yard game-winning FG by K Martin Gramatica...had nine tackles in NFC Wildcard Game at Philadelphia 12/31. 1999: Played in 15 games, primarily on special teams…recorded seven special teams tackles and one forced fumble…saw action in both playoff games. 1998: Played in 14 games, starting final six games at MLB after Hardy Nickerson was sidelined with pericarditis…finished with 46 tackles and one pass defensed in final six games and also contributed two special teams stops…after being inactive for first two games, saw first regular-season action versus Chicago 9/20 on special teams…stepped into MLB slot vs. Detroit 11/22 and recorded eight tackles, including two for losses…concluded season with three-tackle effort at Cincinnati 12/27, helping Bucs record first road shutout in team history, 35-0.
