| Born Jerametrius Butler in Dallas, Tx…Blue Chip Illustrated all-America selection, adding Dallas Morning News Texas Top 100 and first-team all-District honors at Carter High in Dallas, Tx...lettered three times in both football and track...two-year gridiron starter...was a sprinter on the track team, helping Carter run the second-fastest 400-meter relay in the nation in 1996 (1st leg)... top 100-meter time as a junior was 10.51 (electronic timing)...track team set national record in 400 relay in 1996...member of University Outreach program as junior and senior...criminal justice major.
Solid cover corner…real sudden feet and movement skills…can mirror receivers…very competitive and confident press cover corner…selected in fifth round (145th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft. 2001: Played in 16 regular season games, primarily on special teams, as well as all three postseason contests…collected nine tackles (seven solo) with two passes defensed and tied for third on the Rams with 12 special teams tackles for the season…made two special teams tackles at San Francisco 9/23…notched three tackles (two solo) with one special teams tackle against Miami 9/30…registered one special teams tackle and made a big play on special teams, preventing punt from going into the end zone for a touchback on the one-yard line in third quarter vs. New York Giants 10/14…tied for team lead in racking up three special teams tackles while collecting two solo tackles against New Orleans 10/28…made two tackles in NFC Divisional Playoff Game vs. Green Bay 1/20. |
