Set new franchise record for most receptions in a single season with 100, which was previously 93 held by Johnny Morris. Led in the team in receiving yards with 1071 and eight touchdowns. His 66 receptions after two seasons in the League rank fourth among all second-year Bears receivers since 1975. Ranked third on Bears with 47 receptions and 490 receiving yards in 2000 while tying for second with two receiving touchdowns. Was first Bears rookie to record a 100-yard receiving effort since Willie Gault in 1983 (134 yards vs. Minn. 11/14/99). Turned first career reception into a 57-yard touchdown on a receiver screen.
College
Ended career ranked second in school history with 178 receptions and 2,784 receiving yards. Three-year starter who scored 23 touchdowns and averaged 15.6 yards per catch. All-Independent first-team selection as senior. Caught 75 passes for 1,168 yards and 11 TDs. Averaged 106.2 yards per game. Appeared in nine games as junior, catching 44 passes for 621 yards and five TDs. As a sophomore, earned second-team all-Independent honors in first year as starter. Played in every game as freshman and finished with eight catches for 17.5 avg. |
