The St. Louis Rams made some roster moves over the weekend to cut the roster from 80 to 76 and will need to make one more move by Tuesday to get the roster down the to required 75.

One of the roster moves was easy to make, though unfortunate.

That was the decision to place third-year wide receiver Donnie Avery on the injured reserve list after he suffered an ACL injury late in the first half of Thursday's preseason game at New England.

The team's top wide receiver, Avery had 53 catches during his rookie season in 2008 and led Rams wide receivers with 47 receptions a year ago.

The Rams released three players: fullback Jamie McCoy, tackle Joe Gibbs and cornerback Marcus Brown.

The team will have one more move to make to get the roster down to 75 players by Tuesday.

Following the Rams' fourth preseason game, Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens at the Edward Jones Dome, the club will then have difficult decisions to make to cut the roster from 75 to 53.
