The playoffs start tomorrow and after seeing "parity" in full effect in 2002, I don't know why I want to make postseason picks! But I want to try anyway. Here are my 2002 postseason picks:

Colts @ Jets
Before this season started, I thought Manning's Colts would be better. The Jets have been a force to be reckoned with. I'm thinking Jets win 28 to 17.

Falcon @ Packers
My upset special. The Packers are undefeated at home in the playoffs and they always win in the cold. The Falcons have been playing in a funk. All conventional wisdom says Green Bay crushes Atlanta. I smell history in the making. Vick shines and Favre shows why he's not the MVP. Falcons win 28 to 24.

Browns @ Steelers
Steelers started cold then heated up. The upstart Browns led by fan-favorite quarterback Kelly Holcomb will show his fire. Head coach Bill Cowher has the fire the Steelers but he doesn't play. I see the Brown in a squeaker 21 to 20.

Giants @ 49ers
I hear a lot of experts calling this their upset special. I don't buy it. Terrell Owens 28, Shockey 17.

Jets @ Titans
Can the Cinderella season for the Jets continue? Will Vinny Testaverde's ghost (I know he's alive) inspire the Jets. I think Steve McNair finally breaks down and is unable to lead the Titans to victory. Jets win 24 to 21.

Browns @ Raiders
The Raiders are for real. What else can I say? Raiders stomp 35 to 17.

49ers @ Buccaneers
Can the Bucs advance under Gruden's first year? I think so. Buc D shuts down San Francisco. Tampa Bay wins a D-fest 20 to 10.

Falcons @ Eagles
Feathers will be flying in Philly. The Eagles D will step up and Vick's heroics won't "fly." Eagles 16, Falcons 10.

Jets @ Raiders
It's midnight and the ball is over for the Jets. Gannon goes for Super Bowl MVP after beating the Jets 30 to 20.

Buccaneers @ Eagles
Tough to call a winner here. This game will be based on turnovers and I suspect Philadelphia wins in a struggle. In any case, the score will not reflect the 2 great defenses. Philly 35, Buccaneers 28.

Super Bowl - Raiders versus Eagles
It will be sweet to see Philly lose to the Raiders. The Philly D keeps them in the game but whomever is quarterbacking won't be enough to keep pace with Gannon. I see Rice & Brown having fun in San Diego and winning 20 to 17.

Well, my preseason picks were so far off it will be fun to see if I hit any targets with these picks. The my beloved Rams are out, I probably won't watch all the games but I'll catch a few. With the Lombardi Trophy unguarded with today's parity, I really feel like the Rams have missed a great opportunity. Since the Rams are out, I guess we'll see who can step up.

Ram on,
Don
