Rams players Steven Jackson, Trent Green, Leonard Little, Chris Long, and Donnie Avery talked Sunday after the game.

RB Steven Jackson

(On his feelings after the game)
“Disappointed you know.  We had an explosive play out of a rookie and we finally had a chance to play from a lead, but we were unable to hold the lead.  So, it’s a huge disappointment.  You just wanted to come out and play hard and hopefully get a win before the bye.”

(On the difference between the first half and second half)
“It’s not much of a difference offensively.  Buffalo did a great job of making adjustments.  The coaches and the players did a good job of responding.”

(On being able to run the ball)
“As a team I felt like we could do pretty much anything.  The few times we did have a chance to throw the ball, we were able to make plays and keep them honest.  Initially, they wanted to have a pretty tight box against the run and we were able to move the ball.  It’s just really upsetting that we weren’t able to pull this one off.”

(On QB Trent Green’s performance)
“He had a good game.  I was very impressed.”

(On head coach Scott Linehan’s situation)
“You hate that anyone has to take the blame.  It’s an ultimate team sport and it starts in the locker room.  And it’s unfortunate that this team has so much talent, but were kind of still searching for ourselves right now.”

(On the first half)
“We were very confident in the huddles.  Offensive line was talking to one another, coaches and players were all communicating and we had a great feeling of energy in the first half of football.  And even in the second half when Buffalo took the lead and we were down one possession we still had a feeling that we were going to come back and win the game.”

(More on coach Linehan)
“You just try to show up for work and play your heart out for coach.  I think that’s what we try to do and we were unable to keep the momentum going.”

----------------------------------------------------

QB Trent Green

(On how he played in today’s against the Bills)
“Well we did not win so it was not good enough.”

(On how it felt to be back out on the playing field)
“I felt great. I was excited about playing. I thought the team was enthusiastic. I thought there was a lot of energy but we just have to find ways to finish games. I feel fine. I had a lot of people asking me about the hits and those kinds of things because of my past with concussions but I had no problems at all. Everything felt good.”

(On why the team could not win against the Bills)
“We could not dig ourselves out of a hole. If you remember, I think it was the second touchdown drive, we started on our 10 and we had a 90-yard drive. There was a few times we got pinned down in there and yeah we were able to get some first downs but field position was hurting us. I thought our defense did a good job. We were in position to win it in the fourth quarter and once again we did not finish.”

------------------------------------------------------

DE Leonard Little

(On how he played in the game against the Bills)
“I am still trying to work things out. This is my first game of the year basically, I did have a hamstring problem coming into game. They rotated me a lot in the game and it allowed me to go out there and try to makes some plays for the team.”

(On why the Rams keep losing)
“The way this game ended is really disappointing. It is all up to us, the players, to win the game because we had the upper hand. I thought that our defense was a lot better than their offense but when it is time to make the plays, we did not quite make the plays to win the game.”

(On what he thought about head coach Scott Linehan’s job security)
“As players we just have to go out there and play no matter who is our coach. Today had nothing to do with his coaching ability, it came down to us going out there and making plays in the game especially on defense. We gave up that first drive after the half. We just have to learn how to make plays as a team and it has nothing to do with our coach or anything like that.”

------------------------------------------------------

DE Chris Long

(On how the defense played in the game against the Bills)
“I think what you saw was a glimpse of what we could do but four games into the season you don’t have time for glimpses, we have to establish our identity. At the end of the game, what matters is we are giving up over 30 points a game and that is on us. You need the ‘fastest show on turf’ to win with 30 points a game to win every game so we have to pick it up on the defensive end.”

(On how he deals with the pressure of head coach Scott Linehan’s job security)
“You just play. I mean, he just coaches and we just play. That is all you could do, you just have to show up every day and coach (Scott) Linehan is a grinder just like we are. He just wants to show up and coach everyday the same way. At the end of the day, we just have to play. I am not going to sit here and blame anybody but the guys on our side of the ball, we just have to play. Players play and coaches coach.”

--------------------------------------------------------

WR Donnie Avery

(On the game against the Bills)
“We came in with a mindset, to get after them and just to go out there and have fun, make things happen. I guess we did not finish.”

(On his first game as a starter)
“I was just glad to be out there and have an opportunity to help the team out. We still lost so I really can’t talk about myself.”

(On if he saw a difference between QB Trent Green and QB Marc Bulger)
“No, both of those guys are great guys and whomever is back there is going to get the job done. As you saw today, (QB) Trent (Green) can do it just as well as (QB) Marc (Bulger).”
