Senior Bowl Coaches

The Rams finished with the second worst record in the NFL but were not asked to coach the Senior Bowl.

The Rams finished with the second worst record in the NFL at 3-13, behind the one win Dolphins and tied with the Jets. Normally, the two lowest seeds are asked to coach the Senior Bowl, which is held in Birmingham, Alabama the last week in January. This year however, the Rams coaches will not be given that chance.

The NFL has asked the coaching staffs for the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders to coach the Senior Bowl squads. The Miami snub is not surprising due to the fact that they have not hired a head coach and their organization is in major transition. The Rams omission is surprising however, considering their record.

Rams coach Scott Linehan had noted that he and his staff would accept the invitation to coach the game should they be asked.

The game will be held on January 26 on the NFL Network. The event, along with the NFL combine, is considered one of the marquee events to evaluate potential draft talent.
