The Rams might be losing but there are still fireworks happening on the sidelines.

The Rams fell to 3-12 with a 41-24 loss to Pittsburgh at the Dome on Thursday night.

All the action did not come on the field however. During the waning moments of the game, Rams Pro Bowler Torry Holt was caught by the NFL Network cameras yelling at head coach Scott Linehan. Holt, who rarely loses his cool, was visually upset at the situation and repeatedly yelled a number of things at Linehan.

A number of Rams fans saw the outburst as another example of a player arguing or publicly challenging Linehan. In another incident, Marc Bulger was seen rolling his eyes at the coach’s instructions earlier in the year on the sidelines.

After the game Linehan had a different view on the situation.

Linehan said, “It is not a big deal to me. It is what comes with frustration, we haven’t been winning. The guys get frustrated. You can call it whatever you want, ‘in the heat of the battle or something said by a competitor to his coach’, it is over as far as I am concerned.”

After the game, Holt was unavailable for comment and is not expected to address the matter until after the holiday.

On Friday, Linehan received more questions on the matter.

When asked about the incident, Linehan said, “When you are 3-12, I’m the first one to say everything is not all that pleasant. No on likes losing. Exactly what I said last night is exactly what I’ll say today and tomorrow.”

When further pressed on the situation, he abruptly answered, “Torry doesn’t like to lose. He’s a competitor. I don’t think anybody on our football time is happy with our record and the result of the game. I’m not surprised. People are frustrated. It doesn’t surprise me at all. I’d be disappointed if guys weren’t frustrated.”

But what was it about you ask? All Linehan would say is, “It was nothing specific. It was the situation we got in, in fourth down. That was it. The rest was between him and I. It’s over as far as I’m concerned.”
