Rams wide receiver Torry Holt was selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team on Tuesday for the seventh time in his career.
Despite the Rams disappointing 3-11 season, and Holt’s nagging knee problems, he is still having a nice year statistically. Holt is fifth in receiving yards (1,055) in the NFC and has seven touchdowns on the year.
When asked what this selection meant to him, Holt said, “It’s a good feeling. First and foremost I want to thank my teammates for believing in me; the coaching staff for believing in me and giving me an opportunity to get to this point. Thanks to the fans, thanks to the coaches that voted, thanks to the players that voted for me. I am truly thankful and it feels good. Coming off the knee surgery and the sputters that we had as a football team and to still be voted in and be thought of as an all-pro receiver is a really good feeling.”
Holt was the Rams only selection to the Pro Bowl this season. Punter Donnie Jones was a second alternate. Middle linebacker Will Witherspoon (117 tackles, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles) and OJ Atogwe (7 interceptions) were not selected.
