Martz On The Mike - Sept. 18
RamsNation News Bulletin

on injuries:
"I think from a physical standpoint our team is in really good shape. We’ve got Ernie Conwell that we should have back at full speed this week. Other than that, I think Troy Edwards will have a chance to participate and see where he is with our offense. He has not run a play yet, so we will have to see where he is with picking up some of the offense. We will try to include Terrence (Wilkins) a little bit more as well."

how much will terrence wilkins be involved in the offense?:
"We will just have to see. It is just hard to say. You just have to see where the game takes you as you get going."

is he up to speed?:
"Yes, he is coming along. We are getting him more and more involved in it, he will be fine."

what could having edwards and wilkins in the lineup do for the offense?:
"It keeps Torry (Holt) and Isaac (Bruce) fresh. They can come out of the game, but when they come out of the game you can throw the ball down the field or whatever you need to do. Ricky (Proehl) allows us that possibility as well. It helps you in that regard throughout the game keeping your guys fresh and not having them lose any speed and endurance as the game goes on. Being able to rotate those guys in there is pretty big."

on QB kurt warner:
"He has won an awful lot of games here as a quarterback. When you go back and count them it is pretty substantial. He is not used to losing and I think he takes that personally as great competitors do. He is tough and he will fight through this. This is where Kurt is at his best, and he will come out and play super on Monday night."

on tampa bay defense:
"What they are doing defensively is fairly similar. They have gone off in a little different direction now, they have some different coverages than what they have had in the past. Primarily it is very much the same as it has been in the last three years we have played them."

on tampa bay offense:
"Jon has always done such a great job, particularly in the running game, of getting control of the tempo of the game and pounding you and throwing the ball going the distance and taking a lot of time off of the clock. It is hard to get the ball away from it. They use a west coast passing game. They have a lot of crossing routes and they have those big receivers. He has been very successful with this offense for many years and we have our work cut out for us."

more on tampa bay defense:
"I think they are very well coached in what they do. That is one of the reasons I was so intrigued with Lovie (Smith). They do all of the little things well. They are very intense in the way they play the game, they are a very good team."

on starting season 0-2:
"I think our players and coaches understand that we have control of what we are doing, not what the opponent does. There are some things that we haven’t done very well that we can do a lot better. Anytime you have two or three mistakes in a game that can mean 17 points in a swing that can be pretty substantial. When you are within a touchdown in two losses, you can go back and look at any number of plays and say that this could have easily gone the other direction."
