Q&A with Kurt Warner
RamNation News Bulletin

on getting ready to play broncos:
"I am excited. It is fun to get back into the game plans and start really preparing. It is going to be fun to get out there and practice today and get our minds ready for the game this week."

how different is this denver defense than the one you faced in 2000?:
"They are a little bit different, but they do some of the same things. I think it is up in the air right now. We saw them do, in preseason, some things like our defense does, a little more of the cover 2 defense. We also saw them do some things in preseason that is similar to what they did last year and a couple of years ago. We have got to prepare for everything, not knowing for sure what we are going to see, but knowing a couple of years ago they gave up some big plays against us."

on being the team to beat in the nfl:
"You have to enjoy being the team on the top. The ultimate goal is to be the top team and to stay there. When you are a competitor and you have character on your team like we have, there is no other place that these guys want to be. It takes it all to another level, everybody is going to come and give you their best shot and it makes you work a little bit harder. It challenges you every time you step on the field and go to meetings that you have to live up to those expectations. I think guys in our locker room enjoy that."

on preseason:
"Obviously, we would have liked to have won all four of them, three of them, two of them, any of them. But, we also know that doesn’t determine anything, that doesn’t decide anything. So, we can’t worry about that. Now is when it counts, now we have to show up and play up to our expectations, play up to our level and that is what is going to make a difference."

what is sunday morning before the regular season opener like for you?:
"Sunday is not really different, but I think the week leading up to it is a little bit different though. Because the excitement and expectations of that first game, getting into that routine, getting back at it, and getting your routine going again for the start of the season, I think that whole week there is a little more excitement. I don’t know if it is so much on Sunday, because once Sunday gets here it is game time and it is like all of the other games."

do you have any concerns with rams offense:
"After the game last Friday I am not nearly as concerned as I would have been had we not had the success and played the way we did on Friday. I thought we got things clicking and we opened up the offense a little bit. We got guys into a rhythm, and everyone was involved. I think that is going to pay big dividends. I feel a lot better now after Friday night and what we accomplished, and I think a lot of guys feel that confidence level moving up."

on RB marshall faulk:
"He is one of those special guys who doesn’t need a whole lot of touches in the preseason. I know he doesn’t feel like he is in midseason form, but that he feels that he can go out there and do what Marshall does. That is the main thing you want to get out of preseason for guys like that. You want them to get in, get a feel for the game, and get the game to slow down. The key is to get it to slow down, and talking to Marshall, he is to that point. He is to the point where the game has slowed down. He is seeing all of his reads, he is making all of his reads and he is able to just play football. That is the key for him and I think he is at that level."
