Q"A With Marshall Faulk - Sept. 5
RamsNation Bulletin
on excitement level going into season opener:
"I think last week it kind of picked up. We knew going into our last preseason game that we wanted to turn it up a notch and get ready for this week right here."
what do you think the team’s general state of readiness is?:
"We’re just ready to play. We’re ready to get this season going and start playing some football."
on gameplanning for denver’s defense:
"We’ve worked on some things. They’re playing solid, they’re sound. They’re linebackers are playing exceptionally well. It’s going to be a good test for us to play them up there. Atmosphere, crowd, all the things that you’re going to get when you go up there to Mile High, now Invesco. We’re just looking forward to the challenge."
on preseason predictions picking the rams as number one:
"You always want to be first, but the main thing is to finish first, and that’s what we want to do."
how important was it to have a good first half against kansas city?:
"It’s always good to go out there and play well. We went out and we executed fairly well. We got down in the red zone and we stumbled a little bit, but for the most part, as an offensive unit, we went out there and moved the ball. We did some things that we normally do and some things that we like to do."
on new starting rt john st. clair:
"Everybody talks about John. But you know, this preseason is the first time he’s had as much work as he’s had. John has to understand that when we go out there, we get everybody’s best, so regardless of what the guy is next to him, he’s gonna get that person’s best. We’re here to support him, we’re here for him. He’s our right tackle. He’s the guy that we’re gonna line up and go out there and go to war with. We’re all a unit."
on rb chris hetherington starting at fullback:
"I played with Chris before. He’s going to do a good job. He’s not "The Hammer"(James Hodgins), but he can get the job done. He brings some other things to the table, opens up the passing game and other things that Mike (Martz) would like to use in the fullback. For the most part, Chris is solid. He’s a guy that you love having in the situation he’s in right now."
