Rams Make Roster Moves

ST. LOUIS, MO - The St. Louis Rams have signed WR Will Blackwell, the team announced today. The team also released TE Alonzo Cunningham (injured), RB Maurice Douglas, and S Robbie Robinson. G Travis Scott was placed on the reserve/injured list.
Blackwell, a former second round draft choice out of San Diego State by the Pittsburgh Steelers (53rd overall) in the 1997 NFL Draft, has played in 47 career games with two starts. He has caught 67 passes for 682 yards and two touchdowns. Blackwell was also a standout on special teams, returning 78 kickoffs for 1,772 yards (22.7 avg.) with a long of a 98-yard touchdown return and two touchdowns. Last season Blackwell played in the season opener before being placed on injured reserve for the rest of the season.
Cunningham, a rookie free agent from Iowa, was converted from guard to tight end during training camp before suffering from a hamstring injury that prevented him from playing in any of the Rams' preseason contests.
Douglas, a rookie free agent from Northwest Missouri State University, played in all three of the Rams preseason games.
Robinson, a rookie free agent from Colorado, played in all three of the Rams preseason games.
Scott was the Rams fourth round draft selection (130th overall) in the 2002 NFL Draft. Scott played in all three of the Rams preseason contests, but suffered a season-ending shoulder injury against San Diego.
The Rams have reached the NFL mandated limit of 65, minus NFL Europe exemptions. The Rams have 67 players on their roster including three who played in NFL Europe in 2002: S Willie Gary, LB Michael Hawkes, and WR Dane Looker.
