Rams Bulletin - Little Out
By Rams Nation's Howard Balzer
Rams defensive end Leonard Little will miss about two weeks because of a severe
thigh bruise suffered in the second quarter Thursday night. Little continued
to play after being injured, and Rams medical personnel believe blood leaked
into his muscle. A blood vessel broke, and there was a noitceable amount of
swelling after the game.
Later, Little went out to eat and fainted after standing up, suffering a minor concussion and cuts on his head. A few stitches were needed to repair the wound, and Little was hospitalized for observation.
Doctors believe the amount of blood in his thigh, along with normal dehydration from playing and not having eaten in six or seven hours,
contributed to the light-headedness that caused him to faint.
A CT scan today was fine, and he was expected to be released from the hospital this afternoon.
Rams coach Mike Martz said he will proceed as if Little will not be available for the season opener against Denver, although they will know better about his status in about four days.
