S Bellisari Signs; All Rams' Draft Picks Under Contract Entering Camp
ST. LOUIS | S Steve Bellisari has signed a three-year contract with the St. Louis Rams, the team announced today. In another roster move, the team announced the signing of WR Anthony Tucker and that DE Lamanzer Williams has agreed to terms. The Rams also announced they have released WR Chris Oliver.
Bellisari, the Rams' sixth-round draft selection from Ohio State (205th overall), played safety as a freshman for the Buckeyes before moving to quarterback, where he started 34 of 36 games in his last three years.
As a freshman, Bellisari collected 22 tackles, 15 solo with one interception as a safety. As a junior he threw for a career high 2,319 yards at quarterback, completing 163 of 310 passes with 13 touchdown passes, while also rushing 107 times for 386 yards and one score.
Bellisari is the eighth and final Rams' draft pick to come to contract terms. The Rams are the fourth team to have all of their draft picks signed (Detroit, Houston, New England).
Tucker, who played collegiately at Fresno State, was with the Tennessee Titans early in the 2002 preseason after spending five weeks on the New York Giants' practice squad in 2000.
Lamanzer, a sixth round draft choice of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 1998 (179th overall) out of Minnesota, has spent time with both the Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings, as well as the Berlin Thunder of NFL Europe and the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL.
Oliver, a rookie free agent from Iowa signed with the Rams April 30.
