Green Bay quotes - Aeneas Williams
By Rams Nation's site staff
On backups stepping up for big games: “That’s a tribute
to the coaching staff. One of the things that the coaching has done a great
job of is getting the number two and number three guys ready because they have
to be ready to play. Coach Martz always said at the beginning of training camp,
‘if you’re hoping to be just a number two guy, that’s not
the mindset to have.’ If you’re a number two guy then you have to
be ready to play.”
On Brett Favre: “Brett Favre is one of those guys that’s
an old fashioned gun slinger. He can make any throw and he can buy himself time
back there. Whenever you’re playing against great ones, you have to be
prepared to stay where you’re supposed to stay and expect the ball to
come weaving out of there any time.”
On stopping Ahaman Green: “Getting after him. The guys up front
did a terrific job and at safety I was more of a spectator in the run situations.
I believe the guys up front (did great). Rich Coady came in and did a fantastic
job for Adam. Just those guys up front were able to nullify him and not let
him get going early on.”
On making consecutive plays on defense: “Making plays on the
ball. If they try to get deep to drive and get it deep, just make a play on
the ball. And then blitzing, Favre wanted to make his hot reads and I was able
to get my hands up to tip the ball. We were in need of bodies back there in
the secondary, so one of the things that I have to do is find a way to make
plays.”
On Brett Favre and himself going in to the Hall of Fame in the future:
“We’ll see. We’re just going to take it one day at a
time. That would be a tremendous blessing, but to come out with a victory in
this game, I think was huge.“
