Pace Signs Tender
Rams Nation News
ST. LOUIS - T Orlando Pace has signed a one-year contract at the franchise tender, the team announced today. In other roster moves, the team released T Robert Haws, and placed CB James Whitley on the reserve/physically unable to perform list.
Pace is entering his 7th NFL season. The four-time Pro Bowler started all 10 games he appeared in 2002. He has played in 87 games, with 83 career starts. In addition, Pace has started seven playoff games, and has been elected to the last four Pro Bowls.
Pace will practice with the Rams today, and will be available on the field after practice.
Haws released, Whitley placed on PUP
Haws spent the final two weeks and the 2003 offseason with the Rams. Whitley played in 13 games with one start in 2002 after making the team as a free agent. He made 38 tackles, 3.0 sacks, three passes defensed, and one fumble recovery. Whitley suffered a foot injury in April.
The Rams are now at the NFL-mandated limit of 65 players, minus the four NFL Europe players who are exempt, and Pace, who has been granted a two-game roster exemption by the NFL.
