The Rams lost their eighth unrestricted free agent Monday evening, as Jeff Zgonina signed with the Miami Dolphins. Howard Balzer brings us the details...

The Rams lost their eighth unrestricted free agent Monday when defensive tackle Jeff Zgonina signed a four-year contract with the Miami Dolphins.

The deal includes a $500,000 signing bonus with base salaries of the veteran's minimum ($755,000; $760,000; $765,000 and $770,000) for each of the four years, making its total value $3.55 million.

The Rams offered nothing more than a one-year contract at the minimum to retain Zgonina, who was named a defensive captain by coach Mike Martz before free agency even began.
